I read about the rice solution and it works.
Dropped my phone in water last week, removed the back, battery and sim, put in a bowl full of rice so it was fully covered and left it over night. Put it back together the next morning and it works perfectly.

We washed a cell phone in the washing machine. We took it out, took it apart and used a hair dryer for at least 20 minutes. It worked and is as good as new. I could not believe it.

I saved a few mobile phones by taking them apart and letting the parts dry on a towel for a day or so.

There is no sure way to 'fix' it - it depends what components are wet and by how much. It also depends if other liquids werw in the water as they can settle in parts and corriode them. The rice idea sounds good as rice draws water. If you cant fix it though, i'd cut your losses - it would be far too expensive to get repaired (i work in an electrical shop... i've seen the bills!!)
