Instead of sitting gazing moronically at dumb ads on TV, get up and do something useful during every commercial break. Tidying, cleaning a sink, sort laundry, sort paperwork, washing up etc all gets done in short bursts without becoming a major task.

Each day, set an egg timer for 15 minutes and get as MUCH done as you can in that time. Sadly, I get extra excited when I finish and realize I've done more than the day before. Ahh, the satisfaction. : )

When you are watchin tv do something as you sit down such as fold laundry, iron clothes, polish antique silverware etc....I did this even as a little girl it is easy and you dont even realize what you are getting done!

Unfortunately it does take a little effort but if you have routines for everything then it doesn't take as long or is so much work. If the floors need hoovering do it there and then, if everything is done as you go along its not half as much effort as having to do it all at once! I get up at least half an hour earlier than the rest of the house to make sure that I am ready before them and then you should always clean up the morning stuff before you leave for the day i.e. make the beds, wash the morning pots and wipe around the kitchen and bathroom, that way you dont have to face it when you return from a hard days work and its already time to start feeding the children and doing homework!

If your bedroom looks messy...always make the bed first...strangely it always seems to make the room look a lot tidier. That way, you can also clear everything off the floor/shelves that shouldn't be there and put onto the bed. Room is clear and only mess is on the bed...but you can easily see what needs putting away, as the quilt is flat & tidy!
