No need to purchase a special hair sunscreen, most of which are crazy expensive. Just use a small spritzing bottle and fill it with one part skin sunscreen and one part water. Spritz as needed onto your hair (preferably combing it all the way through) before heading out to the beach.

The truth is most hair products with UV protection don't actually stay in the hair very well, which is why these products don't come with an SPF number on the packaging. The manufacturers aren't actually able to tell you how much protection their product will give your hair or for how long. Covering your hair is truly the best way to protect it from sun damage, such as fading.
