Yes and no. Yes, the bride can ask for a specific style of hair and make-up. But under no circumstances should a bride "dictate" anything. Be nice to your bridesmaids. They are there because they are your friends and family, so act accordingly.

Generally, I'd say yes to this one. I've been bridesmaid three times and on each occasion the hair and make up style has been set by both the bride and the hair/make up consultant they are using. They come to a mutual agreement, depending on things like the shape of the bridesmaids faces, their skin tones etc. Each bridesmaid may have their hair and make up different but it is to suit them and all wedding party. It's usually set to compliment the bridesmaids dresses, their accessories and the brides flowers.

Yes and no, yes the bride has every right to ask you to wear your hair/makeup a certain way but I think dictate is too strong a word. The bride does have every right to ask her bridesmaids for a specific look because really it is all about a cohesive look and ultimately it's her day. But the bride should be nice about it and not go into full-fledged bridezilla mode. But if a bride does ask you to wear your hair/makeup a certain way I really think you should because it is her day and wouldn't you want someone to do the same for you?
