have you tried baby powder? sometimes when putting on rubber gloves for example if you put on baby powder first it will make it easier. so its worth a try!
How to restore/clean rubber which has gone sticky? I have this problem with the rubber handgrips on a pram, and with the face of a large character toy, both have been stored in a dry, dark attic for a few years.
