When you buy new designer shoes that are slippery on the bottom make sure that you resole the shoe before you walk in them or you will ruin the shoe & the sole. You also may fall over! A rubber sole makes them easy to walk in.
Make sure that you buy a sole that is made for designer shoes and is very thin so that it protects the shoe but doesn't ruin the look of the shoe!

Like the previous tip says, put insoles in shoes that tend to get slippery. Practice walking in them before you go out. If the bottoms of the shoes have not grip you can also lightly scrape the soles on pavement to give them some texture, though I'm not sure I'd want to do that to expensive shoes, it's a good last ditch method to stop them slipping.

Practice, practice, practice! Scrape your shoes with sandpaper or a pumice stone. Walk heel to toe. Good luck!
