    the answer is simple, if you are excercising to loose weight, you are most likely doing more strainful excercises, so take it slow, do more reps with half the weight, when you do less reps with more weight your body will gain muscle. muscle weighs more then fat, hence the problem, at a lower weight you may not feel like you have accomplished much, but in reality, you have, it just takes longer to see the results

    Unfortunately this is true- hours spent in the gym cant have hardly any effect on the body. If you are trying to burn fat.. you need to mix weights with short bursts of cardio... for example.... sprint training for 3 mins on the treadmill, then onto 3 sets of biceps curls at a challenging weight.(just an example) if I was you I'd do Circuit Training classes twice a week they work a treat. Also it's more or less what you eat which dictates your size. You dont have to bust your ass in the gym to be trim. believe!
